THE EXPERIENCE
There are places where history seems unwilling to stay in the past.
High in the Colorado Rockies, grand hotels, mining towns, old cemeteries, abandoned structures, and underground caverns preserve stories from some of the most fascinating chapters of the American West.
Our journey begins at perhaps the most recognizable haunted hotel in America — The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. We’ll spend two nights there, giving our travelers time not only to experience the property but also to participate in a paranormal investigation at the hotel that helped inspire Stephen King’s The Shining.
From Estes Park, our route takes us south through Colorado into its Cripple Creek.
Before reaching Cripple Creek, we’ll descend underground at the Cave of the Winds Mountain Park, exploring one of Colorado’s remarkable natural cave systems.
Then the character of the journey changes.
We enter Colorado Gold Country and the historic Cripple Creek and Victor Mining District, where prospectors, miners, entrepreneurs, gamblers, entertainers, and dreamers once converged in pursuit of fortune.
The mines produced extraordinary wealth. They also produced tragedy.
And as darkness settles over Victor, our group will have something especially unusual waiting for us: a private paranormal experience exclusively for our Mysterious Adventures Tours group.
The weekend then brings us into the paranormal community itself, with VIP Paracon access plus an additional investigation featuring Brian J. Cano and Dustin Pari.
And because no MAT journey is complete without discovering the character of the destination itself, Saturday also coincides with Pearl DeVere Day, including Cripple Creek’s wonderfully eccentric bed races.
This is not simply a convention weekend.
It is a supernatural Colorado journey built around a spectacular event.

Tips for Tour Guide, Coach Driver and hotel staff.
Our Colorado adventure begins as we gather and make our way into the Rocky Mountains toward Estes Park.
Waiting for us is one of the most recognizable historic hotels in America — The Stanley Hotel.
Opened in 1909, the Stanley has developed a reputation that extends far beyond its beautiful architecture and spectacular mountain setting. For decades, guests, employees, paranormal investigators, and curious travelers have reported unusual experiences throughout the property. Its place in popular culture was cemented after Stephen King’s stay at the hotel helped inspire The Shining.
After checking in, there will be time to settle into our surroundings before gathering for our official Mysterious Adventures Tours Welcome Dinner.
Tonight is about meeting fellow travelers, reconnecting with old friends, and preparing for the adventures ahead.
Overnight: The Stanley Hotel
PLEASE NOTE: Itineraries are subject to slight change depending on availability or weather & travel conditions.
Today belongs to the Stanley.
Enjoy time experiencing the hotel, Estes Park, and the extraordinary Rocky Mountain surroundings while discovering more of the history and legends that have made the property such an important destination for those interested in the unexplained.
The Stanley during daylight is elegant, energetic, and picturesque.
After dark, the atmosphere changes.
Tonight we move beyond simply staying at one of America’s best-known haunted hotels.
Our travelers will participate in a Stanley Hotel paranormal investigation experience, giving us an opportunity to explore its reputation for ourselves.
Bring your paranormal equipment if you have it.
If you don’t, simply bring your curiosity.

Be prepared, this will be a full day of lots of activities and explorations as we leave Estes Park and travel to Cripple Creek!
After our late-night Stanley experience, we are deliberately allowing for a more relaxed morning.
At approximately 9:00 AM, we depart Estes Park and begin our journey south.
We’ll make a scheduled comfort stop along the way before continuing toward Manitou Springs and our next Colorado experience.
Before entering Colorado’s historic mining country, we go underground.
We’ll enjoy lunch together at Canyon Rim Grill before joining the Discovery Tour at Cave of the Winds.
This guided natural-cave experience takes us beneath the mountain through passages and chambers formed over thousands of years — a completely different side of Colorado from the grand hotel and mining landscapes surrounding the rest of our journey.
After our cave experience, we continue deeper into the mountains toward Cripple Creek.
Once one of the richest gold districts in the world, Cripple Creek and neighboring Victor still preserve the atmosphere of Colorado’s great mining era.
We'll check into our hotel, have time to settle in, and enjoy dinner before heading out again as evening approaches.
Tonight's experience is private and reserved exclusively for our Mysterious Adventures Tours group.
We travel into the historic Victor/Vindicator Valley landscape, surrounded by remnants of Colorado's mining past.
Here we’ll explore the stories of the miners, families, disasters, accidents, labor struggles, and extraordinary events that shaped this region.
As darkness settles over the valley, history gives way to investigation.
Our group will participate in an approximately two-hour private paranormal hike and investigation, conducted exclusively for our travelers.
This is not a public event or an activity shared with general visitors.
It is our investigation, our group, and our night in Colorado Gold Country.
Afterward, we return to Cripple Creek for a well-earned rest.
Overnight: Chamonix Resort Casino in Cripple Creek, CO
PLEASE NOTE: Itineraries are subject to slight change depending on availability or weather & travel conditions.
Today the paranormal community comes together in Cripple Creek.
Our travelers receive VIP admission to the Paracon, offering upgraded access to a weekend of speakers, investigators, personalities, vendors, presentations, and fellow enthusiasts of the unexplained.
Spend the day enjoying the convention at your own pace.
Meet investigators.
Attend presentations.
Explore the vendor area.
Connect with people who share your curiosity about the unexplained.
But our day does not end when the daytime programming concludes.
Tonight, our travelers will take part in an additional investigation featuring Brian J. Cano and Dustin Pari.
Both bring decades of experience in paranormal investigation, but their approaches complement one another beautifully.
Brian brings curiosity, experimentation, technology, and a thoughtful investigative perspective.
Dustin brings not only investigative experience but also a deep interest in spirituality, human connection, and the stories of those who came before us.
Together, they offer something considerably more meaningful than simply watching investigators at work.
You become part of the experience.
Overnight: Chamonix Resort Casino in Cripple Creek
PLEASE NOTE: Itineraries are subject to slight change depending on availability or weather & travel conditions.
Today we continue enjoying our VIP Paracon experience. But June 5 also brings one of Cripple Creek’s most wonderfully unusual local traditions.
Pearl DeVere became one of the most famous personalities of Cripple Creek’s Gold Rush era and was associated with the luxurious Old Homestead.
More than a century later, her story remains woven into the history and folklore of the town.
And Cripple Creek commemorates her in a way only Cripple Creek could.
Yes. Bed races.
Teams race decorated beds through town in a wonderfully eccentric celebration near the historic brothel district — just a short walk from our base.
There is no additional cost to enjoy the festivities.
One moment you may be attending a paranormal presentation. The next, you're standing on a Colorado street watching people race beds through a historic mining town.
Somehow, in Cripple Creek, it makes perfect sense. Enjoy the Paracon, the festivities, the town, and our final Colorado evening together.
Overnight: Chamonix Resort Casino in Cripple Creek
PLEASE NOTE: Itineraries are subject to slight change depending on availability or weather & travel conditions.
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Colorado’s haunted hotels, caves, mining towns, mountain landscapes, and the new friends who have shared them with us.
We begin our journey toward our departure point for onward travel home.
NOTE: We will provide one transport Transportation with our vehicles back to Denver International Airport. For this reason, we will want to be sure you book in accordance to a departure time of 11AM out of Cripple Creek Colorado.
Over six days, we will have:
Stayed inside one of America's most legendary haunted hotels.
Investigated after dark.
Descended underground into a Colorado cave.
Explored historic Gold Country.
Joined the paranormal community as VIP guests.
Investigated with Brian J. Cano and Dustin Pari.
Experienced local Colorado traditions.
And perhaps collected a few unexplained stories of our own.
Until the next mystery calls. Travel safe!
