A native of Montreal, Dacre’s career is as dynamic as the stories he tells. A former Olympic-level athlete and coach in the Modern Pentathlon for Team Canada, he brings the same passion and discipline to his literary and historical work. He is also the co-editor of The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years (2012), offering rare insight into the mind of the iconic writer.

Dacre has served as a historical consultant and appeared in numerous international documentaries and television specials exploring the vampire myth in literature and pop culture, including The Real Vampire Files (History Channel), Secrets of the Dead (PBS), Mysteries at the Museum (Travel Channel), Legend Hunter (Travel Channel), and American Vampires (Fox Nation).

Today, Dacre hosts specialized literary and historical tours across Ireland, England, Scotland, and Transylvania. These immersive experiences take guests to the very places where Bram Stoker lived, studied, and wrote—as well as the real-world locations that inspired Dracula. Through these journeys, Dacre brings to life the legacy of both Vlad Dracula III and the enduring gothic mythos his ancestor helped shape.

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in any tour, cruise, travel package, optional activity, or related service organized, sold, or facilitated by Mysterious Adventures Tours LLC. By booking, paying, making a reservation, accepting a travel credit, participating in a payment plan, selecting a Buy Now Pay Later option, or participating in any tour or cruise, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Booking a tour, cruise, travel package, optional activity, or related service with Mysterious Adventures Tours LLC constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 

Payment of any amount toward a tour or cruise, including a deposit, partial payment, full payment, installment payment, Buy Now Pay Later transaction, travel credit application, or other payment method, shall imply acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 

By purchasing or reserving a tour or cruise, the Traveler acknowledges that they have reviewed, accepted, and agreed to the information, policies, responsibilities, limitations, payment requirements, and cancellation terms applicable to the tour or cruise selected.

It is considered upon meeting the following standards and penalties: The collected deposit is not refundable at any time.  The balance due for the tour (and options) is subject to the following penalties, after the deposit is removed from the obligation.

• Within 150+ days prior to Tour Start Date: You will forfeit the 20% non-refundable booking commitment amount only. Any remaining eligible balance paid will be refunded.
  

• Within 120–149 days prior to Tour Start Date: You will forfeit the 20% non-refundable booking commitment amount plus 25% of the remaining balance. Any remaining eligible balance paid will be refunded.
  

• Within 91–119 days prior to Tour Start Date: You will forfeit the 20% non-refundable booking commitment amount plus 50% of the remaining balance. Any remaining eligible balance paid will be refunded.
  

• Within 61–90 days prior to Tour Start Date: You will forfeit the 20% non-refundable booking commitment amount plus 75% of the remaining balance. Any remaining eligible balance paid will be refunded.
  

• Within 0–60 days prior to Tour Start Date: You will forfeit 100% of the complete tour package, options, and add-ons. No refund will be issued.

Built for Romania’s first king, this Neo-Renaissance masterpiece is as innovative as it is beautiful — famously known as the first castle in the world to be fully powered by electricity. Inside, ornate halls and richly detailed interiors reveal a world of royal elegance, far removed from the shadows that await.

We pause for lunch at Restaurant Alex, where you’ll enjoy hearty Transylvanian dishes. Local tradition suggests garlic as protection against darker forces… and today, you may want to take that seriously.

As the journey continues, you’ll step into a place where modern pop culture meets centuries-old mystery at Cantacuzino Castle — known to many as the filming location for Nevermore Academy in Wednesday. Beyond its cinematic fame, the castle carries a far more unsettling reputation. Visitors have reported strange figures appearing in photographs, and the powerful family who once lived here is surrounded by stories of tragedy and unexplained deaths.

By evening, you arrive in the legendary region of Bran and check into Hanul Bran, a historic inn set along the famous Bran Pass. Once a refuge for weary travelers, it now offers a quiet retreat just steps away from one of the most infamous landmarks in the world.
