The afternoon will include a tour through the Pharmacy Museum. Located in the same space that held the first licensed pharmacy in the country (opened in 1823), stand in awe at the collection of early practitioners’ tools including midwifery, optometry, and dental, along with countless jars of salves, tinctures, authentic Voodoo potions, and even leeches. Many say the museum is haunted, The space certainly holds an eerie presence, and you will hear of the unlikely legend surrounding the hauntings and the more likely duo that is prone to pull pranks. The Pharmacy Museum is also much loved for this gorgeous interior courtyard.

Meet the Vampress of New Orleans

She Literally (and Literarily) Wrote the Book on New Orleans Vampires Ms. Marita Wywood Crandle knows vampire lore and legend in New Orleans more intimately than anyone–er, any human. Author of New Orleans Vampires—History and Legend and recently seen on William Shatner’s “The Unexplained” TV series, she will provide more background on both the past and modern vampiric residents of the French Quarter.
